Dave Attell is funnier and more outlandish than ever in his first solo HBO, special, a 60-minute concert performed in front of a live audience at The Lincoln Theater, the venerable Washington DC venue. Attell's sarcastic wit and quick-fire delivery prove why he has earned the reputation as a "comic's comic" and was dubbed one of the"25 Funniest People in America" by Entertainment Weekly. His decidedly adult brand of comedy covers everything including alcohol consumption, dating current events and celebrities, and everything else on his mind. Read more...

Comedian Dave Attell, host of Comedy Central's Insomniac, knows how to turn wanderlust into an unbroken string of all-night partying. In this Best of Insomniac volume, Attel hits no fewer than five major North American cities using the same game plan: Stake out a comedy club, then prowl the streets for girls to chat up, guys to taunt, bars to close, and assorted weird, weird stuff to see, all inexplicably taking place while most of the continent is taking its beauty rest. The garrulous Attell insinuates his way into late-night karate lessons in New York, ice-fishing in Montreal, a geek-heavy sci-fi convention in Chicago, and the usual blur of human revelry on New Orleans's Bourbon Street. If a random encounter turns into a memory, great; if not, we just move on. Highlights include a dog-friendly pub, fishy initiation rites, and capricious nudity. --Tom Keogh Read more...

Dave Attell explains why he's the Evel Knievel of the party scene

No rest for the funny: Dave Attell became a familiar name with his "Insomniac" show on Comedy Central, where he'd drink himself silly after a night of club comedy in some town. The TV show is over, and so are the late nights partying. "I'm an old hack.

They often simply follow Dave Attell's advice: If you see a man running down the street naked, you run with that man, because something scary is coming in the other direction. But it's small market habits and tics like that — intraday herd mentality,

John DiMaggio spent most of his time behind a microphone these days, but there was a time when he actually had a chance to show his face to the camera, first as a stand-up, and as an actor on Chicago Hope and in the TV movie Pirates of Silicon Valley. After DiMaggio foothold in the world of dubbing, however, he did his best.

Just for Laughs exclusive - Dave Attell interview Part 2 | Class ...

by Scott King

CAC: One of the things you do incredibly well is that you have these trademark comparisons, for example, the night I saw you in the Cellar you made a comparison with a guy in the crowd who walked by with his friend and said, "Oh look, a male model, and the guy that does his website," you've described Insomniac as " Wild On for ugly people," and when you did my podcast before you said it was "Like Comic Con without the costumes."   DA: Analogies are for people who don't actually have time to write jokes, that's what I do. "Hey, you look like a whatever," that's crowd work, it's all that is.  There's no science to it.  I guess that's just from the New York scene.  All the clubs in New York are loud and all the people are moving around and talking and stuff like that.  If you go on late you see a lot more of it.  That's not just New York, that's being on the road all these years, you see all these different situations and you kind of have to make the best of it.  But the problem is that eventually people want to hear what you have to say and then you're like, "Ut oh, I wish somebody would yell something."  But it does break up the flow and I like that.  I kind of got used to that it's never going to be people sitting there like a recital and that you have to make the best of the situation.  Now these kids are better at being quiet, they're on their Droids and Blackberries the whole time, so it's kind of different.  They're quiet, but they're networking and doing something else while they're there.  So you feel like you're holding them there, it's weird.  ...
